Autograph letter signed "Picasso", Céret [August 25, 1911], to Guillaume "Apolinaire", 37 rue Gros, Paris Passy; 1 page and a half in-4 (27 x 21.5 cm) headed Grand Café de Céret Michel Justafré, envelope with stamp After the theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre (August 21). [Following the theft, searches were carried out at Picasso and Apollinaire's homes, where they found Iberian statues previously stolen from the Louvre by Géry Piéret, Apollinaire's occasional secretary, who had inspired his character Baron d'Ormesan in L'Hérésiarque & Cie].
