Pablo PICASSO. Autograph letter signed "Picasso", Céret July - Lot 30
Pablo PICASSO. Autograph letter signed "Picasso", Céret July 25, 1911, to Guillaume "Apolinaire", 37 rue Gros, Paris Passy; 2 pages in-4 (27 x 21.5 cm) headed Grand Café de Céret Michel Justafré, Grande Chartreuse advertising envelope headed Grand Café, with stamp. "Mon cher Guillaume Voici coment Manolo me dit être les vers que Moreas fis sur lui De Don Caramouel Manolo suit la trace [ ] Au baron d'Ormesan tu diras mes homages. I've sent Marie Laurencin some postcards, if you don't receive them, it's the post office's fault. Max [Jacob] wrote to me at the same time as you, telling me about your meeting at Stock. I also received 2 bowler hats (gray and brown) that Braque and Matisse sent me. I'm working and I know from Fernande [Olivier] that you also often see Marie Laurencin. It's very hot here, so I'm doing a painting of Poete and Paysan and a young girl with an acordeon and a still life of a glass of aniseed, a lemon squeezer, half a lemon and a small pot with flashlights and light.
