CAUCASIAN CHACHKA, WITH HUNGARY BLADE Russian Empire, Austrian Empire, 19th century. Horn guard. Blade with two hollow sides with a single-headed eagle on each side and the inscription "Vincere aut mo. Hungaria" [To conquer or to die. Hungary], a Hungarian rider and on one side a half moon and Eisenhauer, on the other. Leather and wood scabbard, four simple white metal fittings. Length: 89 cm These blades were taken by the Russians after the Hungarian revolt of 1848-1849.
