Georges Artemoff became interested in woodcarving in the early 1920s. He had already learned this technique during his studies in Moscow before coming to France in 1913. He regularly exhibited his sculptures at the Salon des artistes français and the Salon des artistes décorateurs in Paris between 1927 and 1937. In 1927 he received the silver medal and in 1928 the gold medal at the Salon des artistes français, in 1937 - gold medal at the Exposition internationale des arts et techniques appliquées à la vie moderne in Paris.
