Africa. Bateba statuette from the Lobi people, Burkina Faso. Male figure whose pose reflects the Lobi aesthetic in its quality criteria. Standing with his right arm raised backwards, his left arm stretched out along his body. The forehead is high, the nose flat and triangular, and the male torso well pronounced. Sex and navel are prominent. The muscular legs are endowed with powerfully shaped knuckles. Hard and dense wood, very nice patina of use. H. 29cm.
