Paris, éd. de la Pléiade,J.Schiffrin, 1925, in-4, fawn jansenist morocco, coat of arms in the centre, gilt head, double gilt inner fillet, cover and spine preserved, case ( Creuzevault ). Illustrated with 18 plates out of text in colour including a frontispiece as well as numerous bands and cols-de-lampe by Vassili Choukhaeff. Edition of 445 copies, this one of 390 on laid paper. Provenance: From the library of Sir Robert Henry Edward Abdy 5 th Baronet,(1896 - 1976 ), with stamped coat of arms, gold, in the centre of each plate, spine ribbed and decorated with a coat of arms at foot. And handwritten bookplate on the flyleaf of his wife Lady Iya Abdy, born Iya Grigo- rievna de Gay, ( 1897 - 1993 ), is the granddaughter of Russian painter Nicolas de Gay. She was a model of the 1920s and 30s and was immortalized by Man Ray, as well as Cecil Beaton and Horst P Horst for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Literature: Vasiliev, A. "Beauty in Exile". Harry N.
