Basileae: Per Hier. Frobenium, and Nic. Episcopium, an. MDLIIII [1554]. Printer's mark "Froben" on the title page and on the colophon, dated 1553 on the title page and 1554 on the colophon. Folio, 22x34cm, wedge binding. Provenance : From the library of the general and writer Count Dmitri Petrowitsch Boutourline (1763 -1829). He was also director of the Imperial Library of St Petersburg. He had 2 libraries. The first one, to which he devoted 30 years, was burnt down in 1812 during the Moscow fire. There were 4003 printed books and 24 mss. Retired in Florence, this bibliophile managed to form a second one which became one of the most famous in Europe. It contained 7678 articles, including 250 mss, nearly 1000 editions of 15th century princeps and almost all of Savanarola's pamphlets. There are two cat. that of 1805 and the cat. of the library of the late M. le comte de Boutourlin, which will be sold on Monday, November 16, 1840: Paris, Silvestre, 1839, 3 vol. in-8, corresponding to the second biblio. that he formed in Florence.
