Attributed to Paul Emile Brandt (1883-1952) Rectangular cigarette case in silver plated metal entirely lacquered coral black and grey and inlaid with egg shells circa 1925 - Paul Marbot's master punch ( 2 stars between 2 diagonals) and n° 17 Similar model: Le Brech & associés Sale of November 22, 2014 n° 29 Dimensions: 14 X 8 cm History: Exhibitor since 1906 at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, Paul-Emile Brandt is known for his jewellery, tie pins and pocket watches, working ivory and gold with great refinement. From 1925 onwards, he became interested in lacquer work and exhibited in 1927 at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and the Salon d'Automne des minaudières, lacquer powders inlaid with egg shells that were noticed by art critics at the time.
